Pea is a legume plant and belongs to the pea-flower family (Fabaceae). Garden-pea is an annual herb with meter long stalk, whole-edged, evenly pinnate little leaves, white crowns and two or more flowers together. The flowering stretches over a long period of time. Peas can tolerate quite varying climatic conditions, but behave worse under very hot conditions. It is important to avoid laying on heavily weeded areas, as well as areas with Cruciferous weeds and rape seedlings. Peas compete badly with weeds, including couch grass.
